2019 Connecticut Barn Smoker Recap!

2019 Connecticut Barn Smoker Recap!

Wow, another 2019 Barn Smoker has come and gone, but what an unforgettable experience was the Connecticut Barn Smoker this year. We had over 800 Liga Privada fanatics coming from all over the world to the birthplace of this illustrious tobacco, the Connecticut River Valley.

The event started Friday night with our special VIP dinner, held on the farm that is growing our special Connecticut Corojo tobacco used in the Liga Privada H99. The “H” in H99 stands for Hybrido, as this Connecticut Corojo is hybridized with Connecticut Broadleaf to ramp up the taste and profile, making the H99 an unforgettable smoking experience. Attendees received special cigars that evening, and dinner with the entire DE Crew hosted by Jonathan Drew.

Now for the main event, Saturday August 5th, 800 people swarmed to Foster Farm, collecting their cigars and amazing new swag for an experience they would not forget. They were welcome by the Barn Smoker MC, Dirty Fabien Ziegler himself, and quickly organized into groups. The were up close and personally with the Connecticut Stalk Cut Habano tobacco we utilize as wrapper for our Liga Privada T52 and as binder in other cigars including the Undercrown Sun Grown. Learning the process from seed to final cigar, they were able to discover what makes the T52 so spicy and unique to the Liga Privada lineup.

All the while, since this is Barn Smoker 2.0, we again featured our amazing new brand activations. Attendees could grab an Iced Coffee to pair with a Tabak Especial, play some dominos with Willy Herrera, and learn how to “pass a wrapper” and roll their own cigar at the Undercrown station with Pedro Gomez and Henry Pineda. They could swing by our friends at Ventura Cigar to try one of their very special Axis Mundi’s, but we saved the best for last. Since we are celebrating the 20th Anniversary of ACID, we had DJ Eli spinning some crazy tunes in the ACID Nightclub dropped right in the middle of the farm.

While the main focus of the Barn Smoker program is to educate everyone about the American Tobacco Experience, it also serves as a major fundraising event for our main charity focus Cigars for Warriors. Cigars for Warriors is a non-profit organization that ships cigars to our deployed military men and women oversees so they can enjoy that little piece of home we get to enjoy daily. This year we raised over $20,000 for Cigars for Warriors!

Thank you to all our attendees and we can’t wait to see you back next year. If you are looking to still attend a Barn Smoker this year, tickets are still available at www.barnsmoker.com for Kentucky and Louisiana!
