Drew Estate is adding a completely new expression to its Tabak Especial line. Debuting at the InterTabac Show in Dortmund, Germany, from Sept. 15-17, the all-new Tabak Especial Toraja will be available to all of Drew Estate’s international customers beginning in early 2023.
For 20 years, Drew Estate has explored the synergies between delicious coffee and memorable cigars, and Tabak Especial is the ultimate expression that brings the rich aromas and flavors of coffee and cigars together in one luxurious smoke. The Tabak Especial Toraja cigar draws inspiration from a very special coffee that’s typically grown in Indonesia’s Sulawesi region of Toraja. Considered to be one of the world’s best coffees, Toraja is an Arabica bean that is grown at very high altitude, resulting in a beautifully balanced, creamy and rich coffee with notes of caramel, dark chocolate, fruits and herbs. A very small amount of Toraja coffee is also grown in Nicaragua, where it is almost exclusively reserved for use in celebrations of life.
Lucious and luxurious, Tabak Especial Toraja (5 x 54) is a Tapa-Negra style cigar, which combines the Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade Grown wrapper used for Tabak Especial Dulce with Tabak Especial Negra’s Mexican Maduro wrapper to create a two-tone “black and tan” exterior appearance. The wrappers surround a blend of Sumatra binder and Nicaraguan filler tobaccos to create a cigar that’s smooth, rich, sweet and earthy.
