How To Pair An ACID Part 1: ACID Blue Infusion

ACID Cigars are like nothing else on the market. They mix premium tobaccos with high quality infusions to create a flavor that is distinct. In the ACID line there are many different infusions, you have the ACID Blue line sweet and delicious, the ACID Red line smoky and flavorful, the ACID Gold line herbal and complex and many more. With such distinct flavors comes the question what do you pair with an ACID, how do you compliment the particular flavors that each vitola and infusion present? With our resident pairing expert Frankie Dranks we take a deep dive into How to Pair an ACID. We will offer a non-alcoholic pairing option, an alcoholic pairing and a featured cocktail with each article.

Acid Blue – The ACID blue line is perhaps the most recognizable of all the ACID infusions. The Blue infusion is aromatic and undeniably sweet.

Kuba Kuba– Kuba Kuba is the most popular of all the ACID cigars. The sweet and satisfying flavor would pair well with something sweet and punchy.

Jack’s Pick: Ginger Beer.

Frank’s Drank: Kuba’ Gold Fashioned (recipe above) or Rum Old Fashioned.

Blondie– A small mild shot of sweetness, perfect for a nice drive or a short lunch break.

Jack’s Pick: Vietnamese Coffee.

Frank’s Drank: Moscow Mule.

1400 CC– 1400 CC has the same sweetness and aromatics you would expect but also a bit more tobacco flavor due to its larger size.

Jack’s Pick: Dry Cappuccino.

Frank’s Drank: Vodka Martini.

Wafe– A pencil thin sweet treat. The easy draw and abundance of premium wrapper present a sweetness but a more tobacco focused flavor.

Jack’s Pick: Doppio (Espresso with Crema)

Frank’s Drank: Irish Coffee.

Blondie Maduro– The sweetness of the blue infusion meets a dark rich wrapper to provide a satisfying mix of strength and sweet.

Jack’s Pick: Cuban Coffee.

Frank’s Drank: Espresso Martini.

Kuba Maduro– The sweet cap meets a rich and dark wrapper for a spicy yet sweet flavor. The blue infusion highlights the strength of the cigar to create a complex smoking experience.

Jack’s Pick: Black Coffee.

Frank’s Drank: Bourbon Old Fashioned.

Deep Dish– Deep dish is rich with strength and the sweetness of the blue infusion doesn’t hit the palate until the end. The filler tobaccos shine, and the sweetness finishes on the back end.

Jack’s Pick: Hot Chocolate.

Frank’s Drank: Manhattan.’

Blondie Belicoso– The sweetness on the lips is immediate and it is followed by a smooth medium-bodied smoke. The smoke is excellent, and you get a little white pepper spice when smoking.

Frank’s Drank: Daiquiri.
